Visiting Ambuluwawa Tower
Our journey started with a five-hour drive from Hikkaduwa to Gampola, followed by a tuk tuk ride up the steep, misty hill where the tower rises dramatically above the mountains. The scenery? Absolutely stunning. From a distance, the white spiral tower looks magical.
But climbing it… well, that’s a different story. 😅The stairs are narrow, steep, and crowded, and for us, it felt a little claustrophobic. I have ot mention we were also unlucky with the weather, it was windy and a bit of rain. We made it partway up and called it enough.
The view from the tower, though, is breathtaking🤩 Endless mountains, tiny towns below, and even Adam’s Peak on a clear day.
So, was it worth it? For us, probably a one-time experience. But if you love heights, a challenge, and the thrill of adventure, maybe this is your kind of spot.
