This part has so many small "secret" beaches.
Great for a day trips, but for most people a bit to small to stay their whole beach holiday:

- Kudawella Beach โ A small fishing beach with a very local feel, great for quiet mornings and watching daily life by the sea.
- Mawella Beach โ Wide, golden and usually uncrowded, with gentle waves and plenty of space to relax in nature.
- Unakuruwa Beach โ A relaxed, family friendly beach with calm water and a local village atmosphere.
- Silent Beach โ True to its name, a quiet and unspoilt stretch of sand near Tangalle, perfect for total escape and solitude.
- Goyambokka Beach โ A beautiful palm framed bay close to Tangalle, with clear water, beach cafรฉs and a relaxed tropical vibe.
Negombo
Not the prettiest beach in Sri Lanka, but very practical due to its proximity to the airport โ๏ธPerfect for starting / ending your tour if you have a night time flight!

Plus:
- Easy access right after arrival or before departure
- Many restaurants and facilities
Minus:
- Not as beautiful or peaceful as other beaches
- Heavy traffic in parts of the area
Soโฆ what is the best beach in Sri Lanka?

We hope this guide makes it easier for you to find your perfect beachm and that you enjoy a magical time along Sri Lankaโs beautiful coastline ๐๐๐ข
