This 2-week itinerary has it all! Fun for kids, ease for parents. Relax on sunny beaches, splash in pools, then set off on gentle adventures around the island. From elephants and jungles to misty highlands and tea plantations.

This is an exampe on a 14 days tour program in Sri Lanka for a family, travelling during the winter season (November - April):

Day 1 – Arrival in Sri Lanka & Transfer to Hikkaduwa

On arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by one of our friendly, English-speaking drivers.

From here, enjoy a safe and comfortable transfer in a private air-conditioned vehicle to the south coast. You check in at At Ease Beach Hotel in Hikkaduwa, where the sound of the ocean and a relaxed atmosphere mark the beginning of your family holiday.

Day 2 – Hikkaduwa

This day is all about taking it slow. Spend the day swimming, sunbathing and relaxing, while the kids enjoy splashing in the pool and playing in the kids’ corner. There is no rush today😊 just time to rest, recharge and ease into Sri Lankan life.

Day 3 – Madu River Boat Safari & Turtle Hatchery

Today you head out on a fun and educational day trip. Enjoy a boat ride through the mangroves on the Madu River, spotting birds, monitor lizards and learning about this unique ecosystem. Later, visit a turtle hatchery, where children learn how conservation projects help protect sea turtles from extinction – a meaningful and memorable experience for the whole family.


Day 4 and 5 – Beach Time in Hikkaduwa

Spend the days snorkelling in shallow reefs, bodyboarding in the waves, or simply enjoying the beach. Hikkaduwa is ideal for families, with calm areas for swimming and plenty of space to play. While the kids enjoy the pool or beach, parents can take the chance to do a scuba dive – including the famous Cuba Wreck dive for certified divers. In the evening, explore the wide variety of family-friendly restaurants Hikkaduwa has to offer.


Day 6 – Galle Fort & Journey to Udawalawe

Today the round tour begins.

On the way south-east, stop at Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk through the charming old town, enjoy cafés and shops, and let the kids treat themselves to Italian ice cream while exploring streets filled with colonial history. In the afternoon, continue towards Udawalawe, where you check in to a hotel surrounded by nature, offering a real jungle atmosphere.


Day 7 – Udawalawe

A highlight for both kids and adults.

Head out on an early jeep safari in Udawalawe National Park, famous for its large elephant population. Seeing elephants up close in the wild is a truly unforgettable experience and often becomes one of the most talked-about moments of the trip.


Days 8 and 9: Ella

Drive up into the highlands to Ella, where spectacular views and fresh mountain air await. Enjoy easy hikes, including a walk to the Nine Arch Bridge, stroll through lush tea plantations, and try a family-friendly zipline adventure.

Day 10: Haputale

Visit Lipton’s Seat for panoramic views and a tea tasting experience. Spot monkeys in the surrounding forests before heading back down to the southern coast for the next stage of your journey.


Days 11 to 13: Southern Beaches

It’s time to return to the beach.

Choose a different southern beach destination to end your journey – perhaps hipster-cool Hiriketiya, relaxed Dickwella, or laid-back Tangalle. Of course you are also welcome back to our hotel in Hikkaduwa 💙

Day 14: Departure

Your private driver will safely transfer you back to the airport.
