Facts about Trincomalee:
While the south west coast sees more rain during summer, the east coast is in season from June to September. That means sunny days, calm sea, and ideal swimming conditions for children.
We love spending our days on Uppuveli Beach and Nilaveli Beach. Long stretches of soft sand, fewer crowds, and that laid back feeling you hope for on holiday.
Family friendly activities in Trincomalee:
There is more to do than just beach life. A visit to Fort Frederick and the beautiful Koneswaram Temple gives you a mix of culture and stunning ocean views. The nearby 🦌Deer park is always a highlight with kids, where you can get surprisingly close to the animals.
For a bit of adventure, we highly recommend a trip to Pigeon Island National Park. 🤿🐠The snorkelling here is some of the best in Sri Lanka, with coral reefs, colourful fish, and even the chance to spot reef sharks and turtles.
And after a full day in the sun, nothing beats sitting down by the beach with fresh seafood and the sound of the waves 🌊
